The M-Bus industrial metering bus is used primarily on various metering devices such as energy meters, gas meters, calorimeters etc. The bus is characterized mainly by its resilience towards interference and a possible length of a single bus that can reach up to several kilometres, allowing the user to connect a large number of metering devices. The brand-new RS485toMbus-XL converter, the latest addition to the Unipi e-shop, will now allow you to use the M-Bus along with Unipi controllers, utilizing controllers to read data from a high number of metering devices. The converter converts the data from M-Bus to RS485 serial interface - standard equipment of all Unipi Neuron and Axon controllers.
The converter is available in four variants differing in the maximum number of connected M-Bus devices. Based on the needs of your project you can thus choose between a maximum of 45, 80, 120 or 190 devices. This makes the converter an ideal choice for extensive metering projects - a typical application is a multi-storey apartment building with an M-Bus energy meter in each apartment. The property owner can connect all energy meters to a single bus and then connect it to a single programmable logic controller through the converter.

The converter features a durable construction due to an aluminium chassis (IP40 protection) covering all components.
