If you choose this option, we can’t provide you with pre-installed UniPi, so the installation will be on you. Here is a list of a few open-source software platforms which are compatible with our products.
EVOK is an open source software solution based on Linux developed to run on Raspberry Pi computer and provide control specifically over UniPi controller board. Main functions of this system are reading inputs of sensors and third-party devices, control and management of outputs. EVOK can handle thousands of sensor constantly sending the values for processing – sensors such as thermometers, hydrometers, electricity meters, gas meters, water meters and more. It can also simulate necessary data in charts, graphs and diagrams. It can be used as a control software for smart home solutions, boilers (poorly regulated heating has the greatest share of operating expenses), access control, digital displays, watering systems and vast amount of other possibilities. It allows you to control every room individually and to use weather forecast for predictive heating when necessary. EVOK can easily help you with central heating management, saving resources and lowering expenses thanks to its automated behaviour with help of predicting and self-teaching algorithms.
Fhem is a GPL’d perl server for house automation. It is used to automate some common tasks in the household like switching lamps / shutters / heating / etc. and to log events like temperature / humidity / power consumption. It supports a lot of protocols used in house automation, audio/video devices, weather services, online calendars and more. The program runs as a server and you can control it via web or smartphone frontends, telnet or TCP/IP directly.
Node-RED is a visual tool for wiring together hardware devices, APIs and online services in new and interesting ways. The light-weight runtime is built on Node.js, taking full advantage of its event-driven, non-blocking model. This makes it ideal to run at the edge of the network on low-cost hardware such as the Raspberry Pi as well as in the cloud. The flows created in Node-RED are stored using JSON which can be easily imported and exported for sharing with others.
Pimatic is a home automation framework that runs on node.js. It provides a common extensible platform for home control and automation tasks. It has uniform interface, is web-based, offers automation rules and supports extensions. One of the extensions is a plugin for UniPi support. This plugin connects Pimatic software with EVOK driver.
Pimatic web interface is optimized for mobile devices.
PiDome is an open source software platform for domotica/home automation. Formerly written for Raspberry Pi for personal project this software become full-featured software solution actively developed and supporting various hardware devices. The platform is written in Java and this language is also used for custom implementation.
PiDome has PiDome Server – server build consisting of the core and the web interface and PiDome Client – while the web interface is primarily used for server configuration, Client is for actual control for Desktop, for Android and for Raspberry Pi.
Domoticz is an open source platform for home automation control. Its web user interface is made in HTML5 and all the browsers are supported. It supports multiple operating systems, either desktop or mobile and allows alerts and notifications. While Domoticz UI is made in HTML5, Domoticz itself is written in C++ code. This automation software can control RFXCOM Transceiver, Z-Wave, P1 Smart Meter, YouLess Meter, Pulse Counters, 1-Wire, EnOcean and other technologies.

The system is designed particularly for control of technical equipment in smart buildings, monitoring, evaluation, and management of energy and media consumption. Compatibility: System offers very unique and wide spectral compatibility with older systems, so practically everything (opentherm boilers, smoke detectors, etc.) what is already installed can be connected to UniPi. All the posibilities of distant control and management are immediately possible, and you don’t need a whole new equipment.

REX Control System is an advanced tool for design and implementation of complex real time control systems. It consists of two parts: the development tools and the runtime system. The control algorithms are composed from individual function blocks, which are available in the extensive function block libraries. These libraries cover all common fields of automation and regulation and offer also a variety of elements for high-level control algorithms. User defined function block can be used for creating unique algorithms in special applications.

UniPi Board version 1. 1
Due to all of its components and the fact, that UniPi board is designed to fit the cheap and easy to use Raspberry Pi mini computer, UniPi becomes very effective controller, which is uniquely versatile and offers wide variety of uses. Thanks to its compatibility it is very convenient for unification and interconnection of both, already installed and planned systems. UniPi can find use not only in households, but also in a bigger buildings like hotels or little factories.
Major building blocks of UniPi board are:
8 relays 250VAC@5A or 24VDC@5A – control switching elements, lights, motors, doors opening.
Standard serial port to connect serial console or many other devices (NFC readers, … )
Provides 1Wire bus interface to connect 1Wire devices such as temperature and humidity sensors

Raspberry Pi is a portable, powerful mini computer, compatible with UniPi Board. It is only as big as a credit card but it is a capable little PC. It can be used for many things that your desktop PC does, like high-definition video, home automation, railways or remote control. Raspberry Pi also has wide application range, such as music machines, parent detectors to weather stations, tweeting birdhouses with infra-red cameras, lightweight web server, home automation server, etc. It enables people of all ages to explore computing, learn to program and understand how computers work.
The Raspberry Pi 2 Model B is the second generation Raspberry Pi. It replaced the Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+ in February 2015. Because it has an ARMv7 processor, it can run the full range of ARM GNU/Linux distributions, including Snappy Ubuntu Core, as well as Microsoft Windows 10.
Raspberry Pi model B+ is for use with UniPi quite sufficient, there is no extra need of greater speed Raspberry Pi 2 disposes.
1Wire temperature sensor
1Wire temperature sensor DS18B20 is a digital temperature sensor protected in water-resistant stainless steel cap (6*30mm) with 1,5m long cable with RJ45 connector, which uses 1Wire protocol and is compatible with UniPi. Power supply UniPi Power Supply is high quality switching AC to DC 5V 2000mA power supply, ready to use with UniPi Board. It consists all certificates (FCC/CE) for world wide using. These are switch mode power supplies which mean the output is regulated to 5V and the capable output current is much higher (2000mA). The power adaptor will accept inputs of 100V to 240V at 50 – 60Hz. Materials used to manufacture this charger are ROHS compliant. You can choose which connector do you prefer (EU, UK/US, AUS). You can also choose our industrial power supply with DIN holder (Meanwell DR -15 -5 ready for DIN installation), it’s the best choice for your industrial project.
