UniPi gives it’s users incredible possibilities as it is a very versatile tool. This have discovered hotel’s owners in a little village named Radešín located in Moravia, the Czech Republic. They use it to effectively manage central heating in the building to make it more comfortable for their customers and save money as well.
The very first solution of the heating was neither practical nor economical. Each of radiators was controlled manually with a thermostatic valve and there was a necessity to turn it on one by one. After this solution came another when the put thermostat to each separate room to control central heating for the whole room. Even this solution proved to be problematic as thermostat’s battery often discharged and needed to change. Not to mention that hotel’s guests usually forget to turn heating off when opened the window.
UniPi board solved this issue without quickly and thoroughly. Each Unipi controller board handles multiple rooms. Each window of every single room was equipped by magnetic contact and the room itself by digital thermometer. This way central heating system always turns off the heating whenever figures out a guest opened a window to clear the air. System also makes sure to lower the temperature at night for comfortable slumber and rizes the temperature in the morning to make getting up more pleasant.
The systems uses EVOK software which enables for hotel personnel to control it via a simple user interface (shown below). The heating automatically starts when the reservation for a particular room is set. System also checks the weather forecast to predict necessary steps for balancing indoor temperature. Runs without any need for men’s encroachment but can be easily reconfigured by hotel’s employees.
Not only it made whole heating control simpler, smarter and convenient but also helped to save annual expenses for heating by incredibly 55% so the investment definitely paid off. Let alone the ecological benefits for our ecosystem.
